Construction and Lane Closures

The I-66 Widening Project will add an additional travel lane on eastbound I-66 from the Dulles Connector Road to Fairfax Drive (Exit 71)

I-66 Eastbound Between Dulles Toll Road Connector and Exit 71
Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The left lane will be closed from the N. Sycamore St. Bridge to end of project (Fairfax Drive (Exit 71)) for asphalt paving as weather allows. If paving cannot be completed then the right lane will be closed from the Williamsburg Blvd. Bridge to the Bon Air Park Bridge for roadway widening activities, movement of material/equipment, and setting new structures, such as panels, posts, poles, etc.
Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4: 9:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Multi-lane closure and stoppages of up to 20 minutes on I-66 East from Patrick Henry Drive to the east end of the project limits (Fairfax Drive (Exit 71)) for traffic shift.
This project, part of the I-66 Inside the Beltway improvements, will provide direct access from eastbound I-66 to the West Falls Church Metro station by constructing a new ramp connection between two existing ramps (eastbound I-66 to Route 7 and the eastbound I-66 collector-distributor road adjacent to the station's parking garage.)
