Construction and Lane Closures

The I-66 Widening Project will add an additional travel lane on eastbound I-66 from the Dulles Connector Road to Fairfax Drive (Exit 71)

I-66 Eastbound and Westbound Between the Dulles Connector Road and Exit 71 (Glebe Rd./Fairfax Dr.)
Monday, Sept. 21, through Friday, Sept. 25: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A single lane will be closed on I-66 West for movement of trucks, delivery of materials, and work zone access.
Monday, Sept. 21, through Friday, Sept. 25: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A single lane will be closed on I-66 East for movement of trucks, delivery of materials, and roadway widening activities.
Monday, Sept. 21, through Friday, Sept. 25: 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A single lane will be closed on I-66 East for roadway widening activities, movement of material/equipment, paving operation, and setting light poles on the left side of I-66 East.
This project, part of the I-66 Inside the Beltway improvements, will provide direct access from eastbound I-66 to the West Falls Church Metro station by constructing a new ramp connection between two existing ramps (eastbound I-66 to Route 7 and the eastbound I-66 collector-distributor road adjacent to the station's parking garage.)

Single lane closures in both directions for movement of trucks, delivery of materials, and median reconstruction.
The I-66 Eastbound Widening Project includes construction of a new Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail Bridge over Lee Highway (Route 29).

The temporary trail detour using Fairfax Drive and W. Jefferson Street is scheduled to remain in use through September 23, weather permitting, after which the lesser detour will be in place until the trail opens.
