The I-66 Eastbound Widening Inside the Beltway Design-Build Project consisted of three related components to help move more people through the busy I-66 corridor.
- I-66 Eastbound Widening Project added a through lane along approximately four miles of eastbound I-66 between the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) and Fairfax Drive (Exit 71) and other improvements.
- I-66 Eastbound Direct Access to Metro Project created direct access to the West Falls Church Metrorail from the Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) exit off of eastbound I-66 (Exit 66).
- W&OD Trail Bridge Project constructed a new, grade-separated crossing of the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail at Route 29 (Lee Highway) in Arlington near Falls Church.

The project was funded through a combination of federal and state sources, including bond proceeds, priority transportation funds, and dedicated state funding.
